Technology was developed for our benefit, not as something to enslave us. We must not bend to it, but take control over it. By strategically harnessing the power of technology in our nonprofit work we can become more efficient and productive, allowing us to focus more of our energy at the core of our nonprofit’s mission.

Learning Objectives Include:

  • Understand the basics of conducting a technology needs assessment that considers integration, duplication, and fragmentation
  • Discuss the power of system integration with technology
  • Apply a list of affordable, easy to use technology-based solutions to address common nonprofit pain points


This course is intended for beginners with little to no experience in the topic. Please keep in mind, the levels are simply a guideline. Please contact Chloe Perry at for specific questions about the level of this course.



Daniel Watson serves as the executive director and co-founder of The Restoration House of East Tennessee. Under Daniel’s leadership, The Restoration House just opened Phase I of a new 24-unit community for single mother families, and has raised over $3.5 million in operational and capital funding. Daniel was honored as one of Knoxville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, and is an alumni of Introduction Knoxville Class of 2011 and Leadership Knoxville Class of 2014. He served for seven years as a volunteer chaplain for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Johnson University.
