Securing Individual Donations

The individual “ask” can feel daunting – even for a seasoned fundraiser. In this interactive session, nonprofit staff and board members will move past the notion of “begging for charity” and will leave with the tools needed to facilitate a real investment in their mission. Both board members and staff are encouraged to attend this session as a team, but anyone engaged in nonprofit fundraising will benefit from the class.

Participants will be equipped to end the year with increased individual gifts and a better relationship with donors.


Learning Objectives Include:

  • Utilize specific tools to add prospects to their existing prospect pool
  • Analyze their current donor pool and identify prospects for an in-person “ask”
  • Create and execute an individual donor plan
  • Evaluate donor plan results

ABN Fund Development Certificate:

This workshop counts as 3 credits towards the ABN Fund Development Certificate. To receive this certificate, a participant must earn 18 credits (six qualifying courses) within a two-year period. CFRE Credits:

Kim Lauth has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sectors as a Director of Development and Marketing, Vice President, Executive Director, COO and consultant. In 2013, she formed Kim Lauth Consulting, LLC, a consultancy focused on building organizational capacity to meet community needs.

Kim has held the CFRE (certified Fundraising Executive) certification since 2002. She is the President of the Smoky Mountain Planned Giving Council and Past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Great Smoky Mountain Chapter. Throughout her career, she has raised millions of dollars for operations and capital projects. Her work has been published in the Journal of Healthcare Philanthropy.
