Do you have a planned giving program? A planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death, as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning.

Whether a donor uses cash, appreciated securities/stock, real estate, artwork, partnership interests, personal property, life insurance, or a retirement plan, the benefits of funding a planned gift can make this type of charitable giving very attractive to both donor and nonprofit.

Join us as we learn how to build a planned giving program that attracts donors to give to your cause!

BIO:

Since August, 2013, Terry Morgan, CFRE has served as the first executive director of the Women’s Fund of East Tennessee, which serves as a catalyst to transform the lives of low-income women and girls in 25 counties of East Tennessee. She is passionate about the organization's work to break down barriers for women and girls. The Women’s Fund was recently recognized by Governor Haslam for their “Stop the Violence” forum to bring attention to the many ways philanthropists and volunteers can engage in efforts to make change in domestic violence and human trafficking. The Women's Fund was also named the “Foundation of the Year” 2015 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), TN Region.

Prior to the Women’s Fund, and after a three-year sabbatical to serve as the National Director of Foundations for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Terry served as president and CEO of Baptist Health System (BHS) Foundation, and senior vice president of Baptist Health System for 16 years. She was responsible for the board and foundation services throughout the multi-campus healthcare system, developing and facilitating multi-campus fundraising programs, communication and collaboration between regional donors, physicians, community benefit collaborations and foundation operations. BHS Foundation was named “Foundation of the Year” 2007 by AFP, TN Region – the only healthcare foundation, at that time in the region, to be named as such in the 17-year history of the award. Under her leadership, they consistently ranked in the top 25% quartile focusing on the development of successful multi-dimensional fundraising programs.

Starting out to become a CPA, once Terry was exposed to philanthropy she shifted to nonprofit management and the rest is history. She received her CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification from CFRE International, Alexandria, VA -  Mastery Level Certification; attended University of Central Oklahoma for accounting/business administration; and attended The Fund Raising School at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Graduate School of Business.

Terry has received a number of awards and is a recognized leader in her community serving on numerous boards. She is a frequent speaker for local, regional and International conferences, and has appeared on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and ABC News. She and her husband enjoy a family of four adult children, their spouses and four adorable grandchildren. Terry says she will never stop developing opportunities to make positive changes for those in need.
