Organizations are always watching for grant opportunities, yet it is rare to meet someone who excels at foundation research. Even when foundation data is readily available, it can be a challenge to determine whether to apply, how much to request, what to ask for, who to talk to, and so on. During this workshop, Mark Goldstein, a grant proposal writer who has conducted foundation research for 20 years, will share his methods and tricks of the trade. This workshop will cover the fundamentals, but experienced researchers may also benefit from advanced tips and systems that make research easier to delegate.

Learning Objectives Include:

  • Apply grant research fundamentals to determine whether a foundation is a viable grant prospect
  • Evaluate and understand free and for-pay research tools that can be used to identify grant prospects
  • Apply creative techniques for identifying grant prospects
  • Understand how to conduct efficient, effective grant prospect searches

ABN Fund Development Certificate:

This workshop counts as 3 credits towards the ABN Fund Development Certificate. To receive this certificate, a participant must earn 18 credits (six qualifying courses) within a two-year period.
