Social Media can be a powerhouse of possibility for your organization. Connecting with your target audiences, engaging your volunteers, promoting your cause and increasing the visibility of your organization are all at your fingertips. But for many, cracking the social media code is a difficult task. This beginners course will take a deep dive into each of the primary social platforms and help you unlock the potential that awaits for your building your organization. Don’t forget to bring your laptop!

 

Learning Objectives Include:

  • Understand the unique value of each social platform and how to use each platform for maximum engagement
  • Develop smart social media goals
  • Understand how to evaluate and improve current social media performance
  • Create a social media content calendar
  • Understand and be able to apply popular tools/programs that will save time and increase social media effectiveness

ABN Nonprofit Marketing Certificate:

This workshop counts as 6 credits towards the ABN Nonprofit Marketing Certificate. To receive this certificate, a participant must earn 18 credits (six qualifying courses) within a two-year period. Credits are tracked on individual sub-accounts (not admin accounts) as course credit stays with the individual. For more information, contact Chloe Perry at cperry@betternonprofits.org.

 

Level:

This course is intended for beginners with little to no experience in the topic. Please keep in mind, the levels are simply a guideline. Please contact Chloe Perry at cperry@betternonprofits.org for specific questions about the level of this course.

 

BIO:

Josh Cantrell is a people-oriented, results-focused marketing consultant with a passion for helping organizations grow. He is the founder of Signal Brandworks, a digital marketing company specializing in inbound marketing, copywriting, and creating digital marketing strategies that work. His marketing initiatives and leadership helped one previous company grow from $5 million to $20 million over five years. Josh was a founding leadership team member of the Social Media Club of Knoxville and has worked with nonprofits in various marketing and consultative capacities since 2008. He brings a down-to-earth, unpretentious, and hands-on approach to marketing consulting for small businesses and nonprofits throughout the Southeast.
